I have the base model and the only suggestion i would make is, if you have the money, first upgrade the storage and if you have some more upgrade the ram. It has really made using both these programs alot more enjoyable for me (although ae in general has poor ui and ux so that still sucks anyway)Īdobe XD same as figma is quite snappy and works fairly well.

Photoshop is moderately better but uses lots of ram with larger files, lots of textures and layers.Īdobe premiere pro and after effects is not the best in terms of functionality but render and export times are really quick and will definitely beat your current machine. Large artboards and lots of vectors becomes heavy and very laggy.

So if you're expecting blazing fast performance then i would suggest not getting an M series macbook at all. Ok, now coming to software, Adobe is just shit and is poorly optimised for the M chips in general. Imo after, that you're probably going to begin to see drops in performance. This is a realistic timeframe in my opinion, if you want it to perform at its best. I'd highly recommend going the M1 pro for if you're looking to keep your macbook for atleast 4+ years without having to worry about it.
